Beschreibung

This workshop covers basic steps of the Polka, such as natural turns and galop, as well as a few additional figures. Technical aspects are covered wherever they are useful for mastering the introduced figures without stress, in particular the fast turning actions. The workshop will not focus on a particular style of Polka, but rather introduce typical elements that can be found in many styles.

Very nice introduction to Polka, in particular for everyone who joined the trip to Vienna where we could dance quite a few Polkas.

Chris hat ein grosses Theoriewissen und streut es in guten Maße in seine Kurse ein. Nicht zu viel, nicht zu wenig, gerade genug dass es interessant ist, man nicht nur die Schritte lernt, sondern auch lernt wie sie zusammen spielen sollen, und was sich auf andere Tänze übertragen lässt.

Great course. Build up the choreo bit-by-bit, making it easy to follow. Well-paced progression from dry practice to dancing through the entire combination learnt so far.

In diesem Kurs habe ich diverse neue Figuren und Variationen von Figuren, die ich schon kannte, gelernt. Chris ist hervorragend im Erklären der Figuren, ich habe viel gelernt. Gerne wieder!

As always, Chris presents interesting material that fits well to the groups abilities. It’s awesome to have this kind of advanced courses, which (together with the technique trainings on Fridays) create this group of dancers who want to improve together.

The Quickstep course was super fun, we learned a good amount of figures and had time to practice them. We also learned a bit about the 'character' of the dance.

Chris does a very good job at explaining difficult figures/variations by first teaching more simple versions to then make it easier to learn the juicy stuff.

The dance course strikes the perfect balance between reviewing figures, improving technique and focusing on the variety that ballroom dancing has to offer. I greatly enjoyed every session of the course & look forward to the next course! Chris is an excellent teacher!

This is a fantastic course, I have learned so much, particularly how figures can be combined, when they can be danced, and how to dance them well. I also really enjoyed the explanations of concepts like swing and different energies of the steps within figures. Chris brings so much positive energy and happiness to his classes, which makes it even more enjoyable to learn and improve. There was also lots of individual feedback and input from the class.

Amazing teachers :) they explained everything very well and in a fun way and we learned lots of great figures that complement the Social/Ballroom program.
