Have you ever wondered why today dances look like this? Where has it come from? Have you ever watched historical movies and wished to participate in those funny festivals with their full of life dances or in beautiful magnificent balls? This course is the right place to come.

Historical dance (or also called early dance) covers a wide variety of Western European-based dance types from the past as they are danced in the present. We will follow the history of dancing from the funny game-based dances which were common for markets and festivals to wonderful historical ballroom dances from times before waltz became just a spinning in a circle.

Dances in a history were made for everyone to be able to dance. So if you have never danced before - it's not a problem at all. Dances evolved with a history, becoming more beautiful, more fun, but also more complicated and various - so if you have an experience - you still won't be bored.

Dancing events in history were not only just moving or physical exercise - but more an important social event. So if you always hesitated and never knew how to ask a girl for a dance or "induce" a guy to ask you for a dance - you would be surprised how long and wise history our ancestors left behind it! And we will talk about it and learn it. Time passes, but some things stay the same...;)
