Description

Salsa Cubana has got it all: phenomenal music, diverse rhythm patterns and a rich historical and cultural background, which is brought to you throughout the lyrics. You only need some basic steps to start dancing as a couple and then learn any of the playful, slightly rotating figures, which are typical for Salsa Cubana. This dance opens the door to related Cuban dance styles like Son, Rumba or the group dance called “Rueda de Casino”. Salsa Cubana provides the Caribbean feeling we are all longing for - so come, and dance with us!

In the second course we will strengthen our understanding for the Salsa rhythm and therefore be able to start dancing in the middle of a song. You will be introduced to “vuelta a la derecha” (right turn) and the figures “setenta” and “sombrero”. Depending on the progress of the participants, we will look at more figures.

In the second course level we will strengthen the understanding of the Salsa rhythm. We teach you how to start and end dancing, which is not as trivial as it may sound. 😉 

Further, you will learn basic figures such as Setenta and Sombrero.  


To enter Salsa 2, you have to know the following patterns in couple:

  • Guapea (open basic step)

  • Dile que no

  • Enchufla (Left turn for leaders and followers)

  • Enchufla con dile que no

  • Vuelta a la Derecha (Right turn for followers)

  • Vacílala

  • Enchufla para siempre


And additionally the following patterns in Rueda: Dame, Enchufla, Vacilala, Coge fly, Coge línea, Coge rolling, fly pa'rriba, fly pa'bajo, Rojo > Verde

Fabian & Julia had very clear explanations of the moves, and the course was very fun. There was often an optional rueda at the end of the class, which was a highlight.

I loved this course and Fabian and Julia as instructors!! Very fun new figures, lots of practice to remember the steps, positive environment and good vibes. And really fun ruedas! 10/10 recommend

Marla and Lukas were great teachers, can only recommend taking a course with them. Whenever someone had a question their input was very helpful. Also they taught the course with so much joy and enthusiasm that the course was always a nice way to spend your Monday evening.

With Salsa Cubana 2 you can finally start to do more long and complex figures, putting together the simpler moves learned in the previous class. By going to the Latino Open Dancing the improvement is quick and fun. I would absolutely recommend taking Salsa 1 before this class to get the basics right, as Salsa basics are complex to master.

Julia and Fabian are great teachers. Their classes are always fun and never boring. They don't shy away from dancing with their students and give feedback. At the end of each class we always did a Rueda and never managed to end on time cause everyone was too busy having fun dancing. We even went to Platzspitz together for a Salsa social after the final session :D

Although in Salsa 4 we learned some new cool, but sometimes complicated moves, Reto and Maddalena always took time to help us out and to let us repeat the moves a couple more times, which helps a lot! :) They are amazing teachers, props to them! ;)

Der Kurs hat extrem viel Spass gemacht! Ich kenne keinen anderen Lehrer, der so motiviert ist wie Reto und die Teilnehmer so mitreisst. Maddalena beobachtet stets den ganzen Raum und hat ein gutes Auge für kleine und grosse Fehler. Ihre Tipps sind immer hilfreich und sie nimmt sich stets Zeit, um jede Figur genau zu erklären.
