This course is an introduction into the technique and styling for standard dances with the aim of achieving harmonic dancing TOGETHER with your party, while looking good.
Topics:
Posture - what looks good and why is it important to dance with a partner
Connection - how does it enable the man to lead and to dance steps together without effort?
Footwork - what are the differences to latin and what are we trying to achieve?
Body positions - why do we need different body positions between man and lady when doing certain steps?
Warning:
This is an advanced course that does not teach new steps. You should therefore have attended at least 2 courses in ballroom dances, and be interested in more details than offered in usual courses.
The dancing position in ballroom is very close (hip and thigh contact) and might be uncomfortable for some people. Please sign up with a fixed partner that you feel comfortable with.
