Description

West coast swing is the chill, mellow cousin of Lindy Hop. Originating in the west coast of the US, West Coast Swing is typically danced to blues, country, jazz and slower contemporary pop songs. The dance is defined by a strong tension and compression that gives the dance its so called „gooey“ feel and allows both leader and follower to improvise without breaking connection. This two hour workshop will introduce you to the basics of West Coast Swing, no prior experience required. This workshop will be taught in English, however questions in German can be answered.

West Coast Swing (WCS) is a partner dance that finds its origin in the swing family of dances. It is often categorized among street dances due to its improvisatory style and that it is mostly practiced as a social dance. Today’s WCS is a contemporary dance style, which integrates movements from Hip Hop, Zouk, Jazz, Latin, etc.

During this summer workshop (2x90min) you will learn the basic techniques and patterns of the dance so you can have already some fun on the dance floor.

Super, gibt kurzen aber wertvollen Einblick in West Coast Swing. Gut verständlich. Die Choreo in der 1. Lektion war richtig cool, weil sie so super zur Musik gepasst hat.
