TimeWe will deepen our knowledge and skills in Kizomba ("Kizomba Tradicional") – a music genre and soulful partner dance from Angola that has captivated dancers worldwide. Kizomba grew out of Semba and other influences, and later inspired newer forms such as UrbanKiz. Today, the term "Kizomba" is also often used as an umbrella term for related and similar music and dancing styles like Semba, Kizomba / "Kizomba Tradicional", UrbanKiz, Tarraxo, Tarraxinha, Kompa / Konpa, etc.
In this course we focus on the authentic, original form - Kizomba ("Kizomba Tradicional"): https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14JfMGaXmV6 (see example video here). Kizomba isn’t about memorising longer, fixed sequences (as for example in Salsa), but about leading and following a small set of simpler steps and variations that you then combine freely — more alike to the improvisation style in Tango Argentino. This way, you can start enjoying the dancefloor quickly: creating a good dance flow without having to memorise longer figures.
