Description

About this course

In this training, we revisit the dances from the Ballroom courses focusing on how to dance them more nicely in terms of look, feel, and musicality. The training will help you on your way towards looking like a pro on the dance floor. You will learn to dance the known basic figures effortlessly and discover body movements that create the typical character of the dances, which will facilitate learning more complex figures in the future. The training also covers the topic of lead and follow to create a smooth experience within the couple so that both partners can enjoy the dance.

Requirements

We recommend this course to everyone who has been dancing for up to 1.5 years, i.e. if you are taking Ballroom 1 to 6 at the moment. If you already have more experience, consider checking out our Advanced Ballroom Training for Standard or Latin.

Cooler Kurs. Auch super um sich zu verbessern nach Ballroom 1. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
04. July 2025, 14:32 Ballroom Starter Recap with Heidi Lee, Sabrina Kleesattel & Michael ZischgRoom: Hönggerberg, Raum der Stille
This course was fantastic! The two instructors were super friendly and clearly passionate about teaching. We were able to make great progress in just three sessions — reviewing all the material from Ballroom 1 and possibly learning figures that went beyond it (potentially from Ballroom 2). The atmosphere was always positive and motivating. Highly recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their ballroom technique while having fun!

Michi and Johanna are great teachers, that made this class not only a great introduction to ballroom dancing, but also a place to cultivate happiness weekly.

I've never danced before this course, and I must say it was an amazing introduction 😄. The teachers and all the people I met there were great, and I look forward to continuing with Ballroom 2 when I find the time!

The course was good - Michi was always smiling and brightening up the room. To all participants signing up for a dance course, please stick to your chosen dance role and don't switch between follower and leader :-).

18. Dec. 2024, 12:26 Ballroom 4 with Michael Zischg & Melody GremingerRoom: UZH Irchel, Y25-H-92

Melody, Michi and Sascha are all lovely and approachable teachers. The course had a great atmosphere and I would absolutely recommend it to everyone.

25. Nov. 2024, 14:21 Ballroom Crash Course with Michael Zischg, Lena Bartl, Daniel Sparber & Zhuolin LiuRoom: ETH Zentrum, Alumni-Pavillon
This is a great course for learning the basic steps of four dances. The teachers are friendly and open, and explain the steps well. The course is well adapted for complete beginners, and a good refresher if you already know the dances a little. Even though it is 4 hours long, it is not very tiring as the course is distributed throughout the day.

Der Crashkurs war sehr hilfreich, um uns in nur einem einzigen Tag so gut wie möglich vorzubereiten. Ich war verblüfft, wie viel wir an diesem einzigen Tag lernen konnten.
