Short Description
As a reverse turning, step based dance, English Tango is a kind of a “stranger” in the set of ballroom standard dances. In this workshop, we get to know to its basics and its elementary figures.
Part 1
English Tango is based on reverse turning walks—straight steps taken on a curve. Moreover, a more compact dance hold and the nearly complete absence of rise and fall are characteristic. After getting in touch with these in preparatory exercises, we start with a couple of figures.
Figures: Walk on LF; Walk on RF; Open Reverse Turn, Lady Outside; Back Corté. (Implicitly including the Closed Finish)
