This course will extend your repertoire by learning advanced figures, variations of figures, and individual movements that are characteristic for the respective dances. Technique aspects are covered at points where this is helpful to dance the new figures and variations smoothly, and where the technique helps to experience characteristic movements and body actions of the dances, beyond just doing steps.

Topics in Fall 2023 - Part 2 include:

• English Tango: extend your repertoire with advanced figures that use the full spectrum of timing, from slower than slow to quicker than quick
• Samba: improve leading & following in known figures and in new variations
• Jive: get creative with variations of basic steps and with figures that break out of the basic patterns

Experience from at least Ballroom 1-4 is expected.

The Ballroom Open Level courses let you discover the familiar dances from Ballroom 1-6 from a new perspective. Go beyond the basic figures of the dances, and experience characteristic movements and body actions of the dances, beyond just doing steps.
