Description

Understand the mechanics of Ganchos. We will start progressively from some basic figures of tango, to achieve the starting position that allow the ganchos to happen. Part of the progression include some boleos and rebound, that we will guide the students through. We will study the rhythm behind the steps. Lastly we will give the principles to execute these figures together with the partner in a seamless manner.

Level: Advanced but open to beginners and intermediates who commit to not be overwhelmed.

Biography:

Marco is in love with the universal nature of tango as a way to connect and communicate. He began dancing in Italy—but tango first came to life for him in the streets of Rosario, Argentina. Marco has since danced all over the world, and deeply understands the core structure that makes tango a universal language. He loves inventing new ways to improvise with the music. He studies many movement forms for inspiration including, most recently Kung Fu.

Elise started dancing tango when she lived in Buenos Aires in her early 20's. Her passion for tango has helped her grow as a dancer and a person. Elise is also a certified yoga instructor, and she continues to explore and study other movement practices, including martial arts, to enrich her dancing and teaching.

Marco and Elise travel frequently to study with some of the best teachers in the world, including Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne, Alicia Pons y Luis Rojas, Mariano Chicho Frumboli y Juana Sepulveda, Raul Masciocchi, Giovanni Perego y Chiara Costa, Raffaele Rufo y Valentina Vitolo
